VaporMax Pure Platinum: A Walk in the Clouds

VaporMax Pure Platinum puts Nike’s finest technology on display. Called the “lightest, most flexible Air Max ever” (via Nike.com), the release is likened to a walk in the clouds. The lightweight Flyknit upper ( seen in other premium Nike sneakers) is seen in its best form with VaporMax Pure Platinum. High levels of comfort and breathe-ability make for very temperate conditions.

The crisp upper is complimented by ergonomically-placed rubber sole sections. The clear sole also boasts a moderate platform, allowing for maximum cushioning and impact absorption. The airy comfort is definitively the lightest release of them all. Since hot “Air” rises, it’s no surprise that VaporMax Pure Platinum rises far above its competition.

Ice Cold Sends a Cool Message

VaporMax Pure Platinum takes March by storm. In typical Nike tradition, sneakerheads are kept guessing– but always impressed– by innovative new releases. VaporMax might tap into “Air,” but it rocks the dynamic nature of cold weather. The too-cool release rocks an ice-cold colorway of white/platinum.

Like New England snow, the colorway dominates every inch of real estate. The sole looks like a sheet of ice, but really, “slip” has been replace with uniquely-engineered grip. As for the superior fit, VaporMax Pure Platinum fits like a (winter) glove– but we don’t recommend wearing them to shovel snow.

So what’s with the icy theme of VaporMax Platinum at the beginning of Spring 2017? Nike sends the message that hell is going to freeze over before they lose their Number One spot in the sports footwear market.

Forecast for Air Max

So what does the future hold for Air Max? Nearly three decades later, the Air Max is a steadfast, stand-out member of Nike’s legacy. Air VaporMax Pure Platinum proves that the sky is the limit when it comes to new releases.

Nike has moved far beyond just changing a colorway. As seen with VaporMax Pure Platinum, strong silhouettes are re-imagined while celebrating their greatest features. It doesn’t stop with a one-off release like Vapor Max Pure Platinum; March 26 will also see more “cool” releases in the tradition of Air VaporMax:

  • Air VaporMax OG – $190
  • WMNS Air VaporMax OG – $190
  • Air Max LD-Zero Pure Platinum – $180
  • WMNS Air Max LD-Zero Triple White – $180
  • WMNS Air VaporMax Pure Platinum – $190

If you’re looking to “Air-out” your Nike collection, March 26 is the date to do it.
